Blue Eyes of the Lost Girl

Blue Eyes of the Lost Girl
Bent over,
Hunchbacked,
From the sorrows of her life.
The young woman’s blue eyes,
Do stare out through the gloom.
Searching for a something,
Someone,
To save her from herself.
But no one ever comes,
And puts their arms around her,
To say that everything’s alright.

Quite a pretty girl,
Nigh on 21.
With long blond hair,
A pretty face,
And forget-me-not blue eyes.
But sorrows do trouble her,
Troubles she does not understand.
Feeling trapped,
Feeling sad,
And feeling very desperate.
Perhaps that it be this,
That drive her to the bridge.

Intelligent,
Like no other,
With the world right at her feet.
But were it not for her troubles,
The world would change forever.
For she does have,
The ability,
To do things great and fair.
To change the worlds,
For the better,
That is what she would do.

She carefully mounts the railing,
Beneath the pale moonlight.
Still ever searching,
For someone to stop her from this act.
She hold onto the railing,
Now standing on the other side.
Looking down,
She does glimpse,
The water far down below.
A drop nigh on 70 metres,
A dizzying drop by any means.

A look crosses her face,
She is determined like no other.
Her tears upon her face,
Do glisten brightly beneath the moonlight.
And with a final glance back,
Still hoping she will be saved.
She turns from life,
And faces death,
Embracing her fate it seems.

She leaps off of the bridge,
And starts to make her fall.
Falling to an eternity,
That all will one day know.

Falling,
Falling,
Falling.
Hitting the dark water,
At an incredible speed.
Her body seemingly lifeless,
As she fell through the cool dark air.
A drop that few can survive,
A drop she will not survive.
For she cares not at all,
With no more will to survive anymore.

The blues eyes of the lost girl,
No longer glow with light.
Instead they glaze over,
And fade into the depths.
The jumper took her life,
For life was too good for her.
Or is it that she was too good for life?
Whatever the case,
The girl took the path,
That all must take,
Whether for sooner or for later.
